Response to Election Project

We have been researching issues on the election of 2008 in class for the past week or so. Before this project, I watched debates on the two runners for president and learned some information from them on television. However, I did not really know much about either of them. If I was eighteen years old or older, and was able to vote, I would not have known who I would be voting for on election day. Going into this project, I thought I would know for a fact who I thought was perfect for the job. However, this was not the way things turned out.
After researching my own topics on McCain and Obama, and listening to my group member on her topics as well, I thought I had a pretty good idea on who I thought would be right for president this year. However, once I started hearing other groups present, I became even more confused than I was in the first place. Listening to all of the different opinions and aspects from other groups made me realize the other views and how they are both right and wrong.
However, there were many things that I realized after this project. I agree with both men on different topics. I strongly agree with McCain on the war in Iraq. I also agree with him on immigration and health care. However, I agree with Obama on most of the economy issues and national security. Now that the project is finished and the presentations are complete, I am right where I started two weeks ago. Thankfully, I am much more educated than I previously was, just a little more confused!
